Who We Are?

Welcome

Thank you for visiting my about me page

I’m a mother of three girls; twins of 27 and my youngest 23. Over the years, my girls have enjoyed growing up with the children that I look after and in the past occasionally joined in with child care activities that I provide, especially if cooking was involved!

My childcare business is open Monday to Friday. All my children that I look after are on a signed contract basis which is a requirement of Ofsted. It’s rare that I work outside my Mon To Fri hours. However if available, I can be flexible with a parent if they require my services urgently.

Childcare

My child minding setting is very much centred around the needs of the children and their parents/carers.

I also care for children who’s second language is not english, respecting their cultural needs etc.

I also have experience working with children that have autism and challenging behaviour. I work along side their individual needs, in partnership with their parents/carers.

I also liaise very closely with their school, nursery or play group etc, so that your child receives the very best ongoing support.

ACTIVITIES

Arts and crafts, cooking, dressing up, music, messy play, story time and also going to toddler group, soft play centre, library and parks.

In school holidays I sometimes organise day trips, which any good child care worker should offer.

We also meet up with other child minders and their children, for lunch and birthday parties, so that the children I care for, learn very important social skills.

I provide a wide range of activities and this is fully explained on my services page.

OUTDOOR FUN

I have a large garden with very high fencing and a variety of equipment like any child care centre.

Children on a water slide

I’m a keen gardener, so especially in the summer months, many an hour is spent in my garden, teaching about wildlife, plants and how to build sand castles. In doing so, I always make sure that my children are properly sun screened.

On the hot summer days, I only tend to go in the garden in the morning and evening, staying out of the midday sun.

The children get a chance to grow their own fruit and vegetables. Some of my children under my supervision, actually get the chance to cook and take home what they have made.

I pay full attention to the health and safety of the children in my care, especially when outside.

PAINTING

My child minding setting is very much centred around the needs of the children and their parents/carers.

Children drawing

I work hard as a childminder, loving my job and I’m always looking out for children that may have a special gift.

I do allow the children to watch some TV, but I find it much more beneficial for myself and the children, when we sit down together and do a craft, such as painting.

20+ years on and I still get so much satisfaction watching the children learn, develope and grow, using the EYFS Framwork.
